Hayfield Bolsters In-house Team with Technical Manager Appointment

November 30, 2021

Hayfield has appointed Jason Hanney as a Technical Manager to facilitate expansion of the in-house team and enable more live sites to become operational.

Jason Hanney joins from Seddon Construction where he was a Design Manager, which involved the technical management of residential construction projects. Prior to that, he was a Senior Technical Co-ordinator for Hill Partnerships. Jason has also previously worked as a Regional Technical Director for CHBC Architects, where he was based for a total of 16 years. Mr Hanney has accumulated over 30 years’ experience in the housebuilding and construction industry.

Richard Everest, Technical Director for Hayfield said: “With a number of new Hayfield developments coming online at the same time, it was important to recruit someone with the experience and skillset to manage new projects from the outset. Jason has comprehensive knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC requirements and he appreciates how our Green Revolution Pledge ensures we greatly exceed the current Future Homes Standard. We are really pleased to have him on board.”

Jason Hanney is highly experienced in the coordination and delivery of design packages, focusing on accuracy, buildability, and compliance. As well as ensuring full compliance with build regulations and scheme-specific requirements, he also ensures risk assessments are appropriate and issued to health and safety co-ordinators. Jason is skilled at progressing the discharge of planning conditions and highlighting any potential issues with design programmes and technical matters, to keep projects on schedule.

Jason Hanney, Technical Manager for Hayfield said: “It’s great to be back to working in-house for a residential developer. I really enjoy being able to manage projects through from the initial concepts to the completion of each phase. Regulations, practices, and processes are changing more in the technical aspect of new home construction than in any other area at present. Hayfield’s technical department is ahead of the game and creating its own benchmarks. I am thrilled to be part of it.”

Recently crowned Housebuilder of the Year at the 2021 WhatHouse? Awards, Solihull-headquartered Hayfield is proactively installing Air Source Heat Pumps, underfloor heating, the smartest electric vehicle fast-charging points available, and ultra-fast broadband into all new and upcoming developments, in line with its strong ESG foundations. These features – alongside its current build specification – ensures all new Hayfield homes have a 62% reduction in CO2 over current Building Regulations.

Hayfield has eight live sites in Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire, where executive family homes are being constructed in prime semi-rural and edge of town settings. The expansion of the technical department is in line with Hayfield seeking to deliver a turnover of £150m during 2022. The company is gearing up to deliver 500 homes annually, supported by a five-year landbank.
